Like many folks here, I carry a knife clipped inside one of my pockets. We all know the type--with the little knob on the blade that allows you to open it with your thumb.

I have had this knife open unintentially in my pocket twice. Both times involved my truck seat, seat belt and getting in and out of my truck in some combination. I've never been able to do it intentionally, and no longer carry that knife.

Carrying a pistol in your pocket, any pocket, without protecting the trigger is just asking for a ND.

Shoot yourself in the femoral artery and you will most likely bleed out before the ambulance gets there...

Taser might have caused a reflexive spasm that would have caused the poor 29 yo to jerk his trigger finger Wouldn't want that to happen, so obviously Sgt. needs to go to guns.

I wonder if the officer was suicidal because he saw IAD coming his way, or because he couldn't go on covering for officers who need IAD to come their way.

If only MPD had an IAD that was concerned with justice.

She'll agree to counseling sessions - back on pay-roll in two weeks - back on the street in four.

She'll also make headlines again. Someone who's sick enough to brandish in front of a school/daycare over a traffic incident will not be helped by some "find your inner child" sessions with a county psych.

Thanks everyone for the good advice. During the summer I wear Cargo Shorts. I hope I can explain this right. These cargo shorts have big pockets on both sides and inside the big pocket is a little pocket. This little pocket is just the right size for my little S&W 637. It fits snugly with just the grip sticking out to grab a hold of to draw.

The other thing to consider is what happens when you, God forbid, have to draw. Does the entire pocket come out with the gun, does your gun get caught on something else in the pocket or the pocket itself? Lots can go wrong when drawing a firearm so why not eliminate those risks that come from not having a holster? Most nice pocket holsters will cost less than $30.

I had the same problem. Try right-clicking the link and "save target as" to your desktop, or my documents or wherever. Then open it up from there. Its about 50 mb, so will take a minute to download.

Its worth a listen. The anti's sound like they barely believe what they are saying, especially Heather. She gets asked a question, and her tone is so unsure when she answers that I'm not sure she even believes what she is saying, because it sounds so stupid.
