I'm in-I believe that we "independants" came close to getting "the short end of the stick" this year!

Absolutely. The first meeting -- assuming we have enough people, which I think we will -- will be to decide on what the next steps, if any, should be.

Assuming we've got enough interest, I'm going to set one up for sometime around the end of the month, unless somebody else steps up to volunteer.

Well, we should start by trying to pick a day of the week or a weekend day to meet and a time, we can set the actual date when there are enough of us interested. Lets compare schedules to start, most of us work full time and can't get away during the day on weekdays.

For me, Mon-Wed I work until 9:00pm so ultimately a Thursday evening or Friday evening would be best for me or any Saturday or Sunday that I don't have a class to teach.

Let's go for Friday the 28th, of this month. Social hour/supper 5:30-7; meeting at 7PM?

When you pick a date on a weeknight, even a Friday at 5:30, you eliminate every non-metro area person. I am a 4 hour drive...not possible.

There will be problems any time you try to schedule ...that is a given. I suspect there are not many as far as I am from the area...in the 4hr range. My window of times thus is far narrower. If you are hoping for any meaningful turn out from us out-staters, you are really looking for a 1pm or so meeting...as it is not just the arrival, but the departure. If it gets too late on a Sunday, then arriving back home at any decent hour before the next work day is also not possible.
