From what I've seen, Jim Abeler is a good guy. I knew him as the guy that started and ran my, then relatively new, school when I was in middle school. I got a good feeling from him then, though at 12 I wasn't all that into politics.

Excellent and well presented essay, Andrew. We should all be working hard this close to the election to open some minds.

"FBI statistics show that the most effective way to prevent physical harm is to resist with a firearm"
So where would I find these statistics?

Hang another sign next to the one that informs all guests to get a badge. You could have it say something warm and fussy like: It Takes a Village, within these halls walks our treasures. WE FORBID YOU TO HARM THEM IN ANY WAY!
There that will take care of the problem..... See how easy that was. Now excuse me while I go fix the lack of world Peace, starvation and cancer, I'll be back in 5 minutes.
There fixed my typo.... you guys/gals and everythjng else happy now,,,,

Thank you for your help. The lack of "piece" is exactly what this article is about. This is specifically trying to encourage school "piece," but world "piece" wouldn't be bad either.
OK, sorry. My mind made a connection that I thought was funny and had to exploit a little.

Hmmmph... Got me thinking what "whirled piece" would be like...

Now that's pretty funny. I think I'll choose to apply advice on other matters to this... test cases are for other people. Maybe one of those uber-customized accidentally automatic 1911's that touch themselves off with the recoil would make "whirled piece" if you hung it on something.
Just so nobody comes back and accuses me of anything, I'll clarify my position... DON'T DO THAT. (Interesting thought, though.)

There are definately some teachers/faculty that would like to be armed... The ultimate goal of calling attention to this issue is to allow those who would like to carry, to carry.
It's perfectly fine if the teachers want more security but don't want to carry guns, that they ask the school board for armed security.
