We have lots of Ganders in the area, and on another Forum I read a note from a person that had copied this from the Gander web site regarding their pricing policy:
---
You won't pay less anywhere else. We guarantee it! If you should find a lower price on an identical in-stock item within 14 days at a local competitor, let us know about it and we will match that price and refund the difference, up to $50!

Restrictions: Refund limited to the first item. Additional quantities will be price matched only. We define local as within a one-hour drive of the store. Exclusions include rebates, financing offers, misprints, discontinued, clearance, or closeout prices or prices on used, damaged, returned, open box or display merchandise. For buy one get one offers, coupons, and Internet pricing, we will meet the competitor's price. This price guarantee does not extend to dealers or resellers.

This suggests that if there is a great ammo deal say at Natchez, or if you are into Glocks and are attracted by the TopGlock pricing, that you can go to Gander and they will match. I intend to try that tomorrow on some ammo using the Blazer interent price from Natchez...

If any of you use the Gallery of Guns pricing site, you can at times find very nice deals...and if Gander will match, well I just found a new place to shop.

Took a Fleet Farm ad into Gander (Forest Lake) and they matched the sale price on the 9mm....no problem :)

I did not interpret that the internet competitor needed to be local. But, I shall find out!

Monday I went to the Maplewood Gander to see if they'd price match an S&W 686 that Cabela's had in their grand opening sale ad. They didn't stock the 686 (nor did they normally), but they price matched anyway. Ordered it in, and had it there by Wednesday.

That, and the salesman gave me (and redeemed) a coupon for 180 Gander Bux for any purchase over $500.

I finally got an answer from Gander Mountain. An earlier poster hit it on the hed, that they will only match internet pricing if it is a local retailer (local being defined as within an hours drive).

That still works good for me, as there is a very active internet retailer about 20 miles from the Baxter, MN store, and their prices are usually superb on handguns (less so on long guns).
