Woops. Not a good idea to leave your tent open in bear country. Critters checking your tent out in isolated areas is very common. (My first experience was a racoon sniffing my ear.) Not generally much of a concern unless you leave them a way in that doesn't require them to rip your tent. Bet he wore clothes that smelled like food too. |

Had a similar experience when I awoke, in my small pup tent on a cycling trip, to the sound of a raccoon playing with the zipper on the nylon screen. They probably had been able to open one before. |

For the good of the children we should ban animal coming into camping areas. All parks should have signs up saying no animals allowed in campsites. |

Hmmm would that violate the Landlord/Tenant rules? Maybe signs could be given out during check in for each tenter/camper?

This is why I carry a .41 magnum in the woods. I've drawn on bears a few times. I can usually talk them into leaving the area but those 250 grain solid core's are a comfort. |
