Quote: 6 Shot In North Minneapolis (WCCO) Minneapolis A man died after a shooting early Monday morning that injured 5 other people.
Minneapolis Police were called to the 3000 block of Emerson Avenue North around 2:45 a.m. on reports of multiple shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found six people who had been shot, one critically. That person was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he died late Monday afternoon.
His name has not yet been released.
Three other people, including a 14- and a 17-year-old, were treated for their injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center. Two other adults were treated at North Memorial. Police said all are expected to recover from their injuries.
Police have not yet arrested anyone in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Department's Tip Line at 612-692-8477.

What was a 14 year old doing out at that time, and where were the parents???

According to an article in the Star & Sickle, the location of the shootings was an appartment building with a strong drug dealer presence.
That pretty much explains the no parents and the teenagers.

I believe it's a reference to a lemonade stand the police set up in North Mpls. last year to 'hand out lemonade, connect with residents, and play basketball with the kids.'
I always thought they were supposed to 'catch criminals, protect citizens and serve the public.'

The LSI (Lemonade Stand Initiative) came out around the same time as members of Minneapolis PD, gave out that wonderful gem of wisdom "use your keyring for personnal defense"
