I have a Springfield Armory 1911A1 "GI". I like the gun a lot, but am having trouble seeing the low profile 'military' sights.
I've thought of buying different sights for it, but that'd cost around $100.
Anyways, I went to the range this morning since I was very disappointed on my performance when I went shooting last Thursday.
After I was done shooting, I wandered over to the display cases and looked around at what they had on hand.
I found a Springfield Armory 1911A1 'Target' model (brand new). It has all the upgrades and better sights that I've been debating on getting for my 'GI', and it's in stainless steel.
The price tag on it is $699.
Is that a decent price and what could I expect for trade in value on my 'GI'? My 'GI' has about 800 rounds through the pipe and is in excellent condition.

Squeeze trigger, BANG, repeat. Kind of boring, but I never cared for drama.

You can't private sell on here but post it up at the range on the for sale board and try to sale it locally. when you buy the low end from the start they lose their trade-in value really quick. and round count doesn't really change trade-in value unless the gun is really worn looking.

Is this the model you saw at the range?
This is a SA "Loaded" Target model with a MSRP of over $1K. At $700.00 NIB this gun would be an outright steal.

Just a suggestion. I had the same problem. I put some whiteout on the blade and fork. That really helped.
