I was just reading the NYT article discussing how equipment that we have been supplying to the Afghan armed forces has been falling into Taliban hands (gee, big surprise).
You know, it really pisses me off that our government will gladly hand over a full-auto, ammo, and equipment to a foreigner without a background check, and to someone who is highly likely to change sides and use the weapon against our own forces nonetheless...yet they prohibit anyone in this country from owning the same.
Just a rant.

Our opponents would say "Well they shouldn't be doing that either, group hug?" long before they'd ever admit that, "yes the U.S. government has got it bassackwards & should be granting full 2A rights to citizens and not at all to foreign forces of dubious loyalty".
But yes, let me join you in your rant.

You're absolutely correct...problem is, I've never been one for singing "Kumbaya".

I would sing with those who gave me ammunition and a fully automatic rifle, wouldn't you?

Until the other side gave me a year's supply of rice, a nessential medicine, or a rocket propelled grenade launcher. . . course the first side could buy back my affections with any of the above and a year's worth of coffee, opium, or claymore mines. Then of course I could be persuaded to swap sides for the promise of a small motel or corner store someplace in the U.S. . . . It is just the way business is done over there.

Hey now, they don't prohibit you from doing anything in the US if you have enough money! Next you'll be complaining about the CIA selling drugs to Americans!
