Other than putting the handgun in the locked box when you go into work (if you don't carry at work), how often would you say you need to remove your weapon and lock it away in your car prior to entering somewhere. This could be either for legal or for personal/appearance reasons.
It really varies. I would have to do it more days than not were it not for the fact that I leave my weapons at home in many situations where I can't carry at one or more destinations and the threat level is low. I can do this because I'm confident of the safety of the area around my house. Not everyone has that situation.
There are certain places I will not go unarmed. There are others I will not visit while armed. I do not like disarming in my car one bit but that's real world.
