I'm a member of another firearms forum and recently met another forum member from there that I used to do work with (he's an electrician and I used to install equipment on some of the same jobs together).

Anyways, he asked me if I was interested in a Springfield Armory XD in .45 acp. I am, if the price is right. What are next to new XD's going for nowdays? He claims this one has only had maybe 1 box ran through the pipe. :?

Any ideas?

No more than $500. I think Cabela's has new ones for $550 right now.

Thanks.

Funny. Just as I clicked to read your reply, the wife dropped the new Cabela's flier on the desk in front of me. Lo and behold, brand spankin' new XD .45acp on sale for $539.99.

Some of the early production XD's had a somewhat iffy finish on them (easy to scratch). I think the later copies are good to go.

Just food for thought if it has been around for a couple of years.

Just make sure it's .45 ACP and not .45 GAP. Not that there's anything wrong with the GAP but ammo is hard to find and cost more.
Of course all ammo is hard to find and cost more now.

+1

Use Gunstop's pricing as a reference for new, by the way.
