Looks like the boarder was in a bit better shape than the banger.

Street Justice. How much you wanna bet the banger retrieved his piece and scurried off before police arrived. That kid (Skater #1) had huge balls. Not too smart, but huge balls. Huge. :!: :!:

Could be the strap was a replica/ airsoft/ pellet, and wasn't gonna be used for anything but intimidation anyway.

I don't believe the gangbanger was aware of Mr. Tueller's research into proximity and effective engagement.

One of those rules of carrying a weapon applies here, for the exact same reason that it applies to the good guys.

Don't pull a weapon unless you are prepared to use it. One of the reasons for that statement in Marc MacYoung's writings is that the act of showing a weapon may do one of two things:

1) Scare off your opponent (which we hope will happen as good guys)
2) Cause your opponent to become even more enraged or desperate and escalate the situation even further...and if you aren't prepared to then use it, you're gonna get hurt. Badly hurt.

I don't think the banger read Marc's books.

Well, skateboarding is not a crime today. Maybe it should be? YMMV.

I greatly prefer, "Don't pull a weapon unless you are prepared for the possibility that you may need to use it," for reasons I've explained before.

Agreed. I assume he normally uses some sort of specially designed skateboard to accommodate those large testicles. I'm picturing something like a skateboard with a wheelbarrow mounted on it or something.

I'm not sure I'd call this that good of a beatdown. It doesn't look like anyone laid into him with board edge right and proper.

From a permit holder's perspective, yours is definItely safer.

Either way, the point is, don't pull a weapon as a mere empty threat. If you aren't prepared for the possibility that you may have to use it, you're creating even more danger.

I couldn't agree more. I've had several people (average person who doesn't have a carry permit) tell me they would pull their gun (again hypothetically as they don't have a permit) in questionable situations and if they didn't have to use it, great. I've had to warn them that depending on the situation which could be 'iffy' at best, them pulling a gun could give the other person a clear cut reason to draw his weapon and fire on them since that person is now being threatened him with GBH or death (depending on where the gun is pointed and a bunch of other details, etc). That reason may not have existed UNTIL they drew there weapon (just in case).

Does anyone notice the 2nd fight in the background (at about 1:20)? That gang banger winds up on the bottom taken his medicine too (same white tee and jeans). Gettin' beat up by skaters...that's a little loss of street cred.
