Penny for your thoughts. For a long time I've carried a SW 642. That gun no longer exists due to user error and I'm shopping for the next thing. Also, I've decided to go auto. I don't really have any opportunity to try a lot out, so any input is appreciated. Here's what I've found that I'm considering. FNH FN40 CZ 40P / CZ P06 Sig P229 Springfield XD40 Any thoughts, comments, recommendations, jeers? I might do a poll too. |

If you are looking at the CZ line, dont forget to take a look at the RAMI. http://cz-usa.com/products/view/cz-2075-rami/ |

I own two XDs, a subcompact in 9mm and an XDm-40, and they're both great. I'm really curious to hear more about this: Sietch wrote: That gun no longer exists due to user error |

Come on over, I'll let you rummage through the arms locker, see what feels right for you. Other locals could show up too, and bring their suggestions. It'll be like a Tupperware party. |

I personally would take the p229 over the rest if you have the bank roll. That being said I love my XD. I know this isn't much but i hope it helps. |

CZ Rami in .40 owner here. LOVE it. Love it even more since Srigs at Sideguard hooked me up with the most excellent Tuckable IWB. Exceptionally easy to carry. with a grip that feels OH so good. CZ P-06 is on my buy list right after an SP101, the Rami won't be traded when either of those happen. I also own an XD40 4" that I never carry anymore and carried infrequently just because I could never get comfortable with the striker fired passive safety thing (not a Glock fan obviously) but it is a fine gun and I don't have any complaints besides that model being a bit big for concealment. On the CZ, I love having the DA or cocked and locked option & mag capacity is the same as the Makarov that preceded it as a primary carry so I don't have to think (differently) about round count. You might also consider the Sig 239, been drooling over 239's in .40 for a while & had I not had the good fortune to discover CZ love .. . . might have gone that way. |

The SW 642 (any hammerless J-frame) is still tough to beat for a gun that can be carried everyday. |

Consider the Smith & Wesson M&P line as well. The compacts are great carry guns. What type of 'user error' occurred? BB |

I would say no more suggestions unless Sietch comes up with the goods on the "user error". You can't start a thread like that and then not give any details. So, no more help until you come clean. Who is with me? |

I really want to know what the user error is, too. But I'll throw the H&K P7 into the mix. I love mine; it's addictive. |

How about a Sig 239 DAK, or the CZ P-01 in 9mm +p+. It's the only handgun to ever recieve NATO certification for reliability. |
