Here is the text of the letter the NE AG released today in response to their mandate to open reciprocity to States that have issuing standards similar to NE.

Looks like MN is now honored in Nebraska!

Almost certainly -- their law doesn't provide for retribution for other states' authorities' bad behavior, and their AG has demonstrated that, unlike certain other people, he follows the law.

Does anyone know if Nebraska state law preempts local law? I know when this first came out, there was talk that the permits would not be valid in the Omaha city limits.

When I left Omaha in 1997, they had a mandatory handgun registration law, permit-to-purchase, and a permit required for open carry (no CC allowed).

The same law that authorized the NE AG to make a list of approved States, also had pre-emption in it. So, "in theory" all local laws limiting permit holders that were more restrictive etc. are moot. In theory.
