Fox9 News reported this morning that The Frontiersman gun shop in St. Louis Park was hit by smash-and-grab thieves, who rammed a heavy steel side door.

It was not clear whether the thieves got any guns or not, but they certainly did some damage.

[UPDATE]

Nope, they didn't get anything, and they got caught. Woohoo!

Two arrested after 'smash and grab' at gun shop

Two people were arrested today in connection with an attempted "smash and grab" burglary hours earlier of a gun store in St. Louis Park.

A car was driven into a back storage door of Frontiersman Sports at Louisiana Avenue and Interstate Hwy. 394 about 1:30 a.m. The suspects failed to get through another door leading into the shop, so no guns were stolen, said owner Doug Ramstad.

The car was found about a block away, but a witness called police about another suspicious car in the area. Two people were later arrested in Minnetonka, and police are checking out what role those two may have had in the burglary.

Police are also trying to determine whether this crime is related to more than a dozen similar break-ins at convenience stores in the metro area in the past several weeks. In those incidents, the suspects took cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Kudos to the owners for making sure everything is secured before they go home at night, having video surveillance, a great alarm system, and good enough doors to frustrate the criminals' attempts.

Sounds like they have arrested two suspects. I hope they are the same guys who knocked over the convenience stores. I hope they fry those guys. Destroying some guy's storefront could seriously hamper his financial success when he's got a low margin business like a convenience store.

Always had good service at the Frontiersman and competetive prices. Also a really good used gun selection.

These smash and grabs seem to be getting very common. We need to ban cars! And we should start with Minneapolis first.

Why do you think they want to play "Choochoo" so badly??? To eliminate the EVIL cars and to further the cause of making individuals dependant on the city/state for more of their needs!
