I'm thinking of the companies that will boot in private lots. If they boot you against their own policies or when their policies are unintelligible, what recourse do you have? Pay the fee to get unbooted and then go to court to recover the booting fee, losing hundreds of dollars in lost wages in the process?

Call me a zealot, but I'm thinking that no private party has the right to take my property against my will, and I call booting a taking of property. I also think towing should be a lot more heavily regulated in otherwise public parking areas. I'm rather glad the socialist city council has been anti-booting thus far.
