The new James Bond, actor Daniel Craig, seems to be something of an anti-gun weenie:
"I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other."
"That's a simple fact. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess. It was on a shoot and it scared me. Bullets have a nasty habit of finding their target and that's what's scary about them."
(Evening Standard, Oct 25, 2005)
So.. will they substitute Bond's PPK for a really loud whistle? I'm not going to spend any money to find out.
I miss Sean Connery

The Bond franchise is really played out...in the books, Bond is a WW2 veteran!
I'd rather read the books myself.

Didn't England recently enact a knife ban?? From what I understand, if a knife was over so long, it couldn't have a pointy tip. I'll have to dig that up.
Edit: They haven't actually enacted it, it falls under an "Offensive weapon" category. The MDs are calling for a ban on kitchen knives that have sharp points. The French banned sharp pointed knives in the 17th century, hence the reason our table knives have rounded ends. Hmmm, maybe Europe is actually digressing or has made little progress forward, civility-wise, over the last four centuries.

That's what's scary about fists: they have a nasty habit of finding their target.
I mean seriously, not like I wanted this guy to get punched in the face (well, he wasn't at the top of the list), but I truly hope he'll realize at some point that you have to demonstrate a commensurate amount of responsibility with any item capable of causing harm. One moment of recklessness & someone eats a knuckle sandwich, or maybe gets shot... doesn't make it the bullet's fault.
I am glad for him though that he wasn't involved with a gun-related mishap on set.

Heard the new bond had a small accident on the set, a stuntman missed(??) and knocked both of his front teeth. I guess bond will have a new look!
