If money was no object, what rifle would you buy?
For me:
Remington 700 in 300 Ultra Mag.

I'd get a collector grade M1 Garand. (wishing I had that kind of money to blow)

Right now I'm pining for a Steyr Scout in .308. But, since that's only around $1500 it's really not a "money is no object rifle".
If money was no object, I'd start here.

Edited to add: MSRP: $8,050.00
I'm tired of chasing elk around the mountain... I want to pick my trophy, take my shot from a comfy position, finish my coffee and then walk up to pack out the meat!

I've had my eye on a Weatherby lately. Caliber? Who knows... Depends on the the fantasized use I suppose. Let's say something in 7mm for now.

I've fallen in love with the Cooper model 52. An absolutely gorgeous rifle that price wise is not out of reach.... If accuracy is on par with their other rifles, it will be a lot of rifle for the money.

I would definitely agree with you there. Beautiful firearms.

My alternatives would include a Barrett M82 or an M107, or a REAL BAR like Rip posted. Other full autos may be "fun" for a bit, but that kind of seems like I'd be wasting ammo.

I dunno about the .50BMG. Everything I've read suggests that the .416 has far better ballistics and range than the .50BMG
