More "risky behavior " like going in to your own home.

Quote: MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - After making it through the first three weeks of 2006 without a homicide, Minneapolis police were investigating three killings that happened within two days of each other.
On Monday evening, a man who arrived at his townhouse in south Minneapolis to find four or five suspects burglarizing it was killed. Police said the man and a woman went into the home about 7:30 p.m. and encountered the suspects.
When officers responded, they found the man dead in the attached garage. The man's name, age and cause of death were not immediately released.
Police said the suspects apparently fled in the victim's vehicle - a 1996 white Ford Explorer with Minnesota license plates, either RDL043 or CFV835. Police asked that anyone who saw the vehicle or had information about the homicide to call 612-692-8477.
About 90 minutes earlier, a man walking down a street in north Minneapolis was fatally shot. Police said initial reports were that a dark colored sedan pulled up and one person got out and shot the victim, whose name and age were not immediately released.
Officers were also investigating the shooting death of a woman, age around 20, who was apparently shot in north Minneapolis early Sunday, and then brought in a private vehicle to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where she was dead on arrival. Her name was not immediately released.

I would guess the last to mentioned were gang/drug related.
It seems with the warmer than usual winter we are having the drug dealing on the corner continues unabated.

I agree with you, but I would even venture to guess that the first one was drug related as well. For whatever reasons they find, bad guys tend to break into bad guys homes. Not saying he was necessarily, just that it's kind of a pattern.

Report from my local cop tells me the police suspect the victim was not unknown to the perps. 4200 block of Pillsbury.

I guess just living in MPLS is risky behavior.
Rybak is an idiot. McManus is a bigger idiot. The police definately can not protect us so there is no reason not to carry 24/7. You never know when and where you may be targeted.

Well, I can testify to the drug dealing being unabated. Looking down from where I work, some days you can see a deal every five minutes. Obvious, blatant, and consistently ignored. Ugly stuff.

From the reports I have heard, this victim was acquainted with his killers. The unspoken implication was that this was a Mexican gang hit.
