I'll admit to being a not totally green garbage person for the most part, although I do haul spent fluorescent bulbs, computer junk, etc to the free Hennepin County Hazardous Materials dropoff location.
I was thinking about spent primers and my growing collection of unusable bullets from reloading -- anybody try to drop this stuff off at a county hazmat recycling place? Did you get a reaction out of them?
I think I'll start dumping my spent primers into a bag and the next trip try to see if they'll take them (I think there's a trace lead content; dunno if it's all burned up on firing), and maybe my junk bullets, too, just to see what they would say about them.
It seems like a good way to rattle their cage for the good of the environment.
For what it's worth, the last trip there about 3 weeks ago I noticed that they had changed their "ban" signs to exempt permit holders.
