can someone explain to me what 16" means?

Barrel length, including any muzzle attachments.
eg. DPMS sells a rifle with an 11.5" barrel but it has a 4.5" flash hider on it to bring it to the 16" min.

Ah. For some reason I though both rifles and shotguns had to be 18". Turns out rifles only need to be 16".

Thanks.

No way. There was an aspect of MN firearms law that you couldn't quote chapter and verse? I'm shocked and disappointed.

Nah. It's federal law, and doesn't come up much in carry classes. :)

It could - if the bbl is shorter than 16" and it doesn't come with a shoulder stock, it's a pistol.

For example:

clarification: was not MANUFACTURED with a stock. You can't jsut take the stock off an AK and shorten the barrel to make it a pistol. At least that's the way it was explained in several ads for Pistol lowers.

If you cut the barrel down on a semi-auto rifle you will probably turn it into a single shot.

As I recall, Southern Ohio Gun sells EBRs for about that price. (their website won't list the prices unless you're a dealer). I don't recall what configuration, but I think they're Bushmaster. I just got their latest catalog in the mail. I'll try to remember to check it out tonight and report back.

Did anyone order on of these? I am very interested in picking on of these up. I see there is a lot of good talk about these guys on AR15.com but I would like some first hand info from someone local.

Thanks,

BG out.

I ordered one. It got to the FFL in 2-3 days. It's pretty. There is no sign of it being used at all. Perfect condition, as far as I can tell. It doesn't come with the carry handle/rear sight.

That being said, I know nothing about ARs, I have no mags and no ammunition for it, I haven't shot it. I have, however, lovingly fondled it. :)

I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.
