Went there for lunch today and had Coneys for the first time...great food and a fun little dive (and I mean that in the nicest way).
Funny thing happened when ordering.
Waitress: What would you like to drink?
Coworker: Water.
Waitress: Are you f&*king kidding me?
Loved the "Permit Holders Welcome" sign on the door. Definitely going back.

I brought my GF in there about two months ago, damn cold night. She was wearing a raccoon (one c or 2??) coat. The bartender dude was being normally rude and vociferous, but in a fun way. Once she warmed up, she took the coat off, at which time he walked up and said "Shit! You're not (f'n) FAT! You're HOT!!" "With that coat on, I thought you were (f'n) HUGE!!"
Then he found out this was her first time there, and had to put the "1st timer" strickers on her... guess where...
BTW, Make sure if it's your 1st time there, or bring someone who hasn't been there before, you tell them it's the 1st time. You get free stickers!
SAM: Do they know you by Siesmic Sam? If so, I'll ask about you next time I stop in. Who knows, maybe you'll be there.

I’m waiting (IMPATIENTLY ) for the announcement of our next get together at the Gopher.

Don't wait. Set one up yourself. You don't need permission from anyone here.

Just remember to call ahead and let George and his owner know, so they can get breakfast food lined up and open up early.

The reply was - Too f-ing bad that's what we got - You going to eat that f-ing thing or what?
At that moment I knew I had found nirvana - if there is such a place...
You're from Upstate? Where?

Chunk - you'll have a much faster response if you ask that question on the other forum. He don't come 'round here no more.

I might be around this area looking for a Sig this weekend. Maybe I'll stop and grab some lunch there, since I couldn't make the Breakfast meet ups.

I went to the Gopher Bar for my first time during RNC week. I sat down at the bar and said something dorky to George like, "Seismic Sam sent me." He just stared at me for what seemed like a minute finally saying, "What in the eff are you talking about? I don't know no Sam." Hanging my head in shame, I quickly ate my coneys and drank my Grain Belt.
The next time I was there was for the breakfast and I told George the story, pointed at Sam, and said, "That effin' Sam!" He gave me a free shot of Jagermeister...at 11am.
