"Four arrested in Chisago County home invasion

Charges are expected to be filed today against four people arrested in connection with a residential burglary over the weekend in Chisago County, said Capt. Keith Hoppe of the Chisago County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities are still looking for a fifth suspect, a 22-year-old man from Rush City, he said.

According to Hoppe, four men kicked in the front and back doors to gain entry to a house on the 52000 block of Government Road in Rushseba Township. The homeowner was home when the burglars came calling at 2 a.m. Friday. She grabbed a 9 millimeter handgun and fired two rounds, but didn't hit anybody, authorities said.

The suspects ran to a car parked on Government Road and fled. Shortly after deputies arrested the car driver, a 19-year-old woman from Pine City, along with a 32-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, both from Rush City, Hoppe said.

On Sunday, authorities arrested a fourth suspect, a 20-year-old man from Pine City.

Could a city enact a local Stand Your Ground / Castle Doctrine law?

Minnesota has one of the best Castle Doctrines in the land.

That said though, it is a CASTLE, not a "in your yard" or "on the street" Doctrine. Keep on your state reps to vote yes on the "Stand Your Ground" law.

I can hardly believe that the Strib covered a DGU.

Will this make the required annual BCA's report of DGU's next year?

I'll wait and see.

it may or may not make the permit report depending on wether the homeowner had a permit.

Who am I kidding? IT won't be in there even then.
