I would like to know what I have to do or what steps to take to get a FFL?

For an 001 FFL these days, you pretty much need a brick & mortar building with a business that is located in an area properly zoned for the sales of firearms. Long gone are the days of holding an FFL out of your home. Check the BATF's website for forms and instructions to see if you meet the other requirements.
You can obtain an 003 FFL, Curios and Relics, by paying a 30 or 35 fee and submitting a form to the BATF. It at least allows you to buy C&R guns and register for dealer pricing through many of the parts jobbers (e.g., MidwayUSA, Brownels, etc.).
