Sherpa technology woul be nice but think how much concealment you could get with a "Concealment Buddy(tm)". Just get some 6'4" 300# friend to walk around with you and shield your printing from the sheeple ;-)

Mine seems to have smothed out a pencil eraser sized spot on the left of the slide, the spot still has lots of finish it. I think glocks newer coating is harder than the carbon fiber. I hardly notice it and a good cleaning makes it nearly disapear.

I have been told this and tend to beleive that all holsters cause some type of "Holster Wear". :|

I think that most of the time it isn't just the holster rubbing against the firearm, but also the street dirt, grit, and who knows what else that gets inside the holster.

I've got a 12 year old G-19 with about 40,000 rounds through it. It's been my "school gun" since it was new. I've been using Kydex holsters since 1997, and I can't find hardly any wear on it from years of holster work. In my humble opinion, I've seen leather holsters cause more wear on gun surfaces than Kydex. I've found Kydex helps for a faster draw.

If your pistol is one Blackhawk makes an IWB for, their leather IWB is nice for $49.

It is comfortable.

I gotta peek at one of these at the Streicher's event. Seeing is believing, I'm definitely picking one up for my G17 (they weren't running any specials and Streicher's tend to be expensive).

I forgot to ask about carbon fiber vs. kydex, in fact there was no mention of it at the display table. Can someone shed some light on that? Blackhawk's website doesn't seem to mention kydex.

On a related note, they also had a level III holster on display. Very nice.

Carbon Fiber seems to be stronger and more flexible.

The latest Natchez catalog has your choice of Carbon or Kydex for $39.00, and that includes both the belt and paddle attatchments.

I'm not thrilled with an out-of-sight doohickey engaging my trigger guard.

Am I just being paranoid? Didn't Fobus have to recall some holsters for a similar gimcrack?

The doohickey sits deep in the holster, well below where the trigger can reach. It grabs the front of the trigger guard to hold the gun in place.

Fobus had a retention strap that could get jammed into the trigger guard and pull the trigger during reholstering. Different beast altogether.
