Are there any? I've had a difficult time finding a holster for my S&W 1066. I've found and ordered (but not yet received) one that will fit the longer barrelled 1006 (which I also own).
Are there many (any?) local holster makers? Or even leathergoods folks that can modify holsters or copy them to fit a smaller/different-shaped gun?
Sometimes it seems like the magic to carry is to start at the holster department and pick out a good holster and then figure out what gun might fit into it later on.
If you find a gun that you like, you may find that if it's not a Glock, Sig or 1911, your choices are kinda slim.

There are a lot of holster manufacturers out there. Go to www.rigrate.com and search the database of holster manufacturers, contact information, and reviews.
I am not affiliated with the site; I have just found it useful and wish to pass on the info if it will help others.

Mobocracy,
To the best of my knowledge there are no local holster makers in the Twin City’s.
However there is Del Fatti Leather over in WI. He is a first class custom shop & should be able to make you anything you could want. I have a couple of matt's holsters & they do need to be seen to be believed. But there is a long wait time to have it made.

I know of a fellow that makes custom-made holsters.
He is located Brooklyn Park. He made a custom western style holster for a Colt Navy AWA Richard Style Conversion I own.

Here is a good holster company you can look at with about 45 different holsters. Their called Highnoon Holsters and I have a Mr Softy and will be buying a Split Decision or Hidden Ally for my S&W 39-2 for a tuckable IWB.
They have a good line of belts and mag holders.
