A 26-year-old Austin man allegedly
took a police officer's stun gun during a struggle and shot him in the foot Wednesday night, following a car chase.
Officer Ryan Leif was shot with the Taser stun gun in his left foot, causing him to fall backward to the ground, Police Chief Paul Philipp said.
Leif then broke the wire connecting the probe to his foot. Other officers then helped arrest the man, using a chemical spray to get him to comply, Philipp said.
