I was at J&S Guns drooling over the XD .45 ACP. I then decided to go across the freeway to Gander Mountain, just to see what they had.
There was a customer at the counter already looking at the XD .45, and he ended up buying it. Lucky SOB.
Was it anyone from the forum?

Sorry Man, I'm just kidding.
But I was at J&S today.

I was at that particular Gander Mountain on Friday. I wanted to see what the new XD 45 looked and felt like after seeing a glowing story in The Rifleman. After looking at it I decided to buy it. I just don't have any willpower when I see something I like. That was sometime around 11 AM or so. I did speak to someone else looking at guns there, they asked me who made a good .22 pistol and I suggested a Ruger. Was that you?
Have not shot the XD yet. It's very well made, I was impressed with the quality of the construction.

No, that wasn't me, but I was in the store right around 11:00.
(I already have a Ruger .22 pistol- real nice slabside target model)
I bet you were the gentleman who I saw, though.
I was the "lurker" who was standing off to the side when the clerk was first waiting on you. I kind of poked around the display cases, then left, right around the time you said "I'll take it".
For sure, let us know how it shoots. I figure Mrs. B would insist that I convert my XD40 to cash to help finance that XD45 so I have to work on that before I try and purchase one.

I'm planning to take it to the range tomorrow along with a large assortment of ammo. From what I've read the XD is supposed to be great out of the box. I'll probably put a couple hundred rounds through it to see if it can be trusted for carry.

My XD40 hasn't missed a beat, I trust my life with it. I bet the XD-45 acp is just as reliable. Have fun- I'm thinking your gonna really like this gun.
If not, I'd sure be happy to relieve you of it.
