Lock up the teenage girls and keep your guns near! Today in the mail was official notification that Hopkins is getting it's very first Level III Predatory Offender.

Thing is, I used to know the guy waaaay back when I was in elementary school and he was in junior high or something around there.

I didn't think they'd release this one.

I'm on 13th. He'll be on 12th. I assume, since that is where he lived before.

Hope no one 'round here tries to put their house on the market...

I'd be tempted to take a proactive approach and have a discussion with said sicko. These freaks are generally terrified of grown ups.

"These ............. are generally terrified of grownups."

That's wonderful advice to remember with any sort of dirtball. They know what they are, and they're ALL scared of anybody who does not act scared of them. They know they're in it alone, and they also know that rest of the world supports you.

It helps to just SHOW UP, be polite and respectful (but not personally friendly), and let them know, by your demeanor, that you are in fact a "grown up" and perhaps even that certain prospective victims happen to be friends of yours. If you do that, the risk to your friends will drop by at least 90%.

This works. Really well.

Maybe they were sick of this individual molesting the prisoners?

Neato. I see that this dirtball now lives three blocks from my old high school.

Level III sex offender moving to Hopkins

By PAUL WALSH, Star Tribune

Last update: February 12, 2009 - 2:43 PM

A serious sex offender is moving to Hopkins, and authorities are alerting the west metro suburb's citizens.

Timothy Cavier, 27, was convicted in 2002 of raping a teenage girl in Hopkins.

Cavier will be moving to the 200 block of 12th Avenue N.

Police are holding a community notification meeting about Cavier's arrival. It is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 715 Minnetonka Mills Rd.

Cavier is classified by state corrections officials as a Level III offender "due to his potential to reoffend and his past criminal behavior," Hopkins police said in a statement issued Wednesday.

If you plug the address for the church into google maps, it points to the apartment building next door.

The church is next door to Alice Smith Elementary School. Well, not directly, but close. Also by Chapel View Nursing Home.
