If he gets in I don't think he will lift a finger to protect 2nd Amendment rights.

On the contrary. I think he would gladly roll back carry rights if he could.

Hatch has been very supportive of MCPPA and 2A. I think he would do just fine as a Gubinator.

He doesn't seem to be wasting any time, either. I got a donation envelope in the mail today. I was surprised that he went to bat for us in court this year. I do wonder where he REALLY stands...

I just don't think Hatch can be trusted. My wife who has delt with him personally (before he was the AG) feels even stronger that Hatch can't be trusted.

This is just my opinion but I would never trust a metro area politician with my 2nd ammendment rights. Particularly one that is on the left side of the issue. I know he stood up for the issue but I believe that's his job. Besides that, he lost.

I'd say he reluctantly and half-heartedly did his job, defending the state against a lawsuit. But his loyalties are firmly with the Metrocrats.

Don't be fooled.

I agree with Andrew, I think Hatch just went through the motions to make it look good but had no ambition to do much more than that.

Or the 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and so now.

Who knows, but maybe he supported the re passage of the MPPCA, thinking about the future. We all know what happened to the liberals in the last few elections- their rabid anti-gun rhetoric cost them plenty.

How would he be viewed right now had he fought the bill instead?

Food for thought, anyway.

Take this for whatever you think it's worth, but I think that the NRA graded him a C at the last election.

Now I just did a quick internet search to see if I could confirm or deny this and I couldn't find squat. And I'm fairly sure that I don't have the article around either. So, if someone here can confirm or deny this feel free.
