My wife of 30 years has always been a staunch 'uninterested' when it comes to guns. If anything, leaning more than a bit towards 'tolerent anti'.

Not 15 minutes ago while discussing crime rates in Chicago she interupted me to say (paraphrased) "No ... I've been listening lately, and I've been starting to see the logic in what you've been saying."

Baby steps I suppose, but .... :D

They seem sympathetic and understanding, then they reel you in with sex and scotch... ;)

Hmmmm. To tell you the truth, I think that I'm ok with that.

My girlfriend went from NO GUNS IN OUR HOUSE, to I don't like guns, to it's ok if YOU get one, to I WANT ONE!

I never sat her down to talk about them, I just kept pointing out crime on TV. I told her I'd like to carry and then pointed out during news stories on a crime that if they had had a gun, that wouldn't have happened...

Quite frankly I think I bored her into liking guns. At the very least I desensitized her.

But will she ever say, "you were right"?

I can't think of a situation that would apply to.

What is this "right" thing? I've been married more than a quarter century, and I've never encountered it, and . . .

. . . oh, nothing, nothing, dear, nevermind.

Gotta go.

My wife has gone from being borderline anti-gun at best to asking me "you're carrying, right?" when we go out, especially at night or to Minneapolis. It's amazing what some little life's experiences do to people.

Um... I think my wife needs to start hanging around with your ladies. Maybe it would rub off...

Actually, she's gone from "NO GUNS IN OUR HOUSE" to "I don't like guns" to "it's ok if YOU get one" to "nope, still not going to the range with you."

I guess the glass is half full.

My wife Kay went from I don't like guns to picking out her own gun and take the MCPPA class with me, took some years but well worth it.

*grin*

I've experienced this "you were right" phenomenon many times. I have had to say it every time she and I have disagreed.

I'll bet she's never disagreed with you when you've said it.

How about changing *my* mind about guns?

I'll never hear " you were right."

Does your mind need changing? You're not one of those that thinks it makes sense to only leave criminals with guns are you?

(Here is where I set you up for a "you're right" if you'd like it. ;) )
