Did anyone else from here go? It was a pretty good time. I got to shoot the M249 SAW. And I brought home a new toy. I won a CMMG AR-15 skull rifle.

YOU won my rifle?!? YOU BASTARD!!
Seriously, however--I was there, and had a great time; didn't shoot the SAW, but shot most of the other events.
My hat's off the DPMS, the Del/Tone Gun Club, and everyone else that put it on...I'll definitely go again next year.
And congrats on the rifle win.

DPMS definitely did an awesome job putting it together.
I heard earlier in the day it was $20 to shoot 5 rounds out of the SAW. I talked to the guy in the afternoon and he asked me if I had a magazine on me. I got to fire off my 30 round magazine for $5.
It was funny seeing all those people in their "tacticool" gear. I just wore my Punisher shirt.

Wow, I didn't see it up close enough to see the skull pattern. I won a hat. Woohoo. This was after the point where they realized reading ticket numbers was taking way too long with the number of people there, and started just flinging prizes into the crowd. I'm a little surprised nobody was injured by one of the cans of tactical bacon [yes there is such a thing]. But as somebody told me, 'Hey, everybody signed a release.'

Dang you! I wanted the rifle! It was a good time and the weather ended up turning out very nice. I even got sun-burned!
Can't wait for next year!

Loved the idiot comment in the St Cloud Time article...

Isn't that listing a number of weapon violations in that line of the article alone??? You can't carry a blade thats longer than 6 inches in the state of MN, in your pocket or in a sheath. A machete has been deemed by the courts as a lethal weapon.
These people sounded a little out of their minds. This isn't some RPG campground where everything was soft foam and glitter.

People later in the comments cleared this up for him/her!

6" blade limit? Really? I hadn't seen that statute. It isn't in 609.66 or 609.02 Subd. 6.
While I'd be ill advised to walk around in Minneapolis with my 38" bladed broadsword or my 22" bladed short sword, neither is illegal & the responding officers would most likely resort to a disorderly conduct charge or something in that vein.
Now my switchblade is legal only in my home as part of my collection, I can't legally carry it around here in MN. Thank God for Quote: Subd. 2.Exceptions.Nothing in this section prohibits the possession of the articles mentioned by museums or collectors of art or for other lawful purposes of public exhibition.
I added my switchblade to my collection of artistic knives, by buying it from a felon who knew he shouldn't be walking around with one of those. Seemed like a win/win to get it off the street.
Anyway, if I am missing a statute, I do want to know about it.

None that I'm aware of. That said, you're absolutely right- the broadsword would almost certainly get you "disorderly conduct" most places, and runs afoul of Minneapolis' questionable blade length limit ordinance...
