This is an interesting one. I was on my way to my family practice clinic which happens to be right next door to the Minnesota Mental Health Clinic when I noticed the signs below.
<img src="http://lh6.google.com/image/evaneaston/RlREkOW1Q-I/AAAAAAAAABE/HCtr0x6tiCw/MMHCLakevillePosting.jpg?imgmax=512"/>
Non compliant language, font, and sign size. I just snapped a picture and moved on. I didn't go in and discuss it with them.
BTW, my family practice (Fairview) doesn't post.
As a first thought, it might seem like this is a good place to be banning as "there can be lots of crazies in these places" (not my words, thoughts, beliefs). But as mental health issues are slowly being acknowledged as common place, there are a lot of average people who are recognizing they can use some help. The thought that only severely unstable people have mental health issues and hence there should be no guns in a walk in treatment clinic seems to counter efforts to de-stigmatize the issue.
Thoughts?
Now whose gonna be the first wiseguy to suggest I was going into the clinic and not just walking past it....not that there's anything wrong with dealing with mental health issues.

Doh! That would have been more obvious had it just been a psychologist's office. I'm thinking that this clinic was one of the ones that deals with issues not so much with counseling but more so pharmaceuticals, now that we understand the physiology of many mental illnesses better than we used to.

I'll try to not be so anal-retentive about my witticisms from now on.
Back to your original question... I think about posting a mental health clinic in much the same way as any other posting I see... I don't...

Yes. I'm pro-gun, pro-carry, AND pro-right-to-own-a-gas-guzzler. I only took one picture and later, after leaving, noticed it had the reflection.
