Springfield XD .45ACP.
Finally found a (non-1911) .45ACP that fits my hand! It's size is pushing it for CC, (about the size of a Glock 19 or SIG229) IMO, but nothing like a Glock 21. My search may be over. I'll have to get back with a range report.

I'm still holding out for a 5" model.
Let us know how it performs for ya.

That doesn't sound like an impulse buy to me. It sounds like you took advantage of a rare opportunity to improve your situation.

Extra mags are kinda hard to find but Bills has them for I think $33, If ordered thru Springfield xtra mags are $35 with shipping and upto a 4 week wait.

This is an interesting pistol that has generated a lot of talk. I'd like to be able to see one! Anybody have photos? I wish I could have seen that one at Bills North last Wednesday.
Sounds like a GREAT combination of power, size and capacity.

Are you sure that's not a .45GAP?? The only .45ACPs on Springfield's site are 1911 clones that I can find. Cobb, they DO have a 5" model called the XD Tactical. (.45GAP)

Somehow, I bypassed the main page !!
Google led me to a different page on their site.
http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod- ... vice.shtml
Under their products section, no 45ACP is listed.
Dang, I need to learn to read, LMAO. DOH!!

Everyone here is invited to shoot my dad's if his planned purchase of a gently-used one goes through soon! We'll just have to inform him of our plans... At some point.:twisted:
