The following is the Faribault Rifle & Pistol 2008 Pistol League schedule:
(Club membership not required to shoot the match.)
The range is located about 45 minutes south of the metro area. South of the town of Shieldsville.

Match fee is $10 (I think this will be the fee. I'm not positive.)

USPSA / IPSIC

Tuesdays: April 29 to August 12

5:00 to 8:00 PM (set-up 4:00 PM; 6:00 PM is about as late as you can come to shoot the match)
3 stages

IDPA

Wednesdays: May 21 to August 13

5:00 to 8:00 PM (set-up 4:00 PM; 6:00 PM is about as late as you can come to shoot the match)
3 stages plus a seperate IDPA BUG (Back-UP Gun) stage (3 strings)

Any questions, contact me.

ETA: Revised dates.

So if I decided to shoot USPSA / IPSIC this year, all I would need it more mags and mag holders?

Yup. (And think about joining USPSA / IPSIC)

(cobb shoots our IDPA matches.)

IDPA is limited to 18 maximum rounds per stage. IPSIC matches have no limit. I have shot 32 plus round stages. I would have magazines for that many rounds plus one spare. With an 8 round 1911 (single stack division), that's a lot of reloads and mag holders. For some IPSIC hi-cap guns, that would be only one reload with room to spare.

I shoot my same 4 inch 1911 for both IPSIC and IDPA. (But I don't care what my scores are.) IPSIC has introduced "Production" and "Single Stack" divisions in the last few years for us purists (old timers).

IPSIC is more "run and gun" where speed is the major factor. IDPA is more use of cover and accuracy.

Well, I'm tempted. Any idea if David Gross is going to be doing it?

So you going to do it this year with a wheel gun? Or maybe you have, I haven't made any USPSA / IPSIC at Faribault except for one winter match.

For sure, if I win the lottery.

Don't know about this year. I've never seen David at any of our matches over the last few years.

Weeknights, South of the Metro are tough. I'd like to make it down for an IDPA match or two. Sometimes I'm just in the mood for a drive (3 buck gas and all).

Minnetonka Gun and Fish is on the North end - up by Elk River. They have a weekly IPSIC league. Or else they have a monthly IDPA shoot.

Mostly-

Thanks for the reminder about their IPSC league.

I already shoot IDPA with TC and Mtka every month.

I'm in the same boat. I try to make it down at least once during the summer, but my work hours aren't very conducive to getting back to town at 9:30 or 10pm. It's usually a fun time though, Leo is a pretty creative stage designer.

Any rumors of IDPA classifiers before May 21?
