I listened to the entire event on my scanner.
The officers on scene said that the victims said it was MS 13 related.
Guess that puts to bed the therory that they are not operating here.

Maybe the gangbangers saw the postings and thought:
"If we shoot inside with the place banning guns, we'll REALLY be in some shit!"
Who knows.

Didn't some fellow named Tony Bouza, who apparently touted his policing skills via dismissive comments to most of those he worked for in a major metropolitan area, state that there was no gang activity in his juristiction?
Something in my memory tells me that is correct.
Sorry, I will answer my own question: He did say that there was a "youth problem" in Minneapolis.
While we all know that MS13, the Crips, the Disciples, the Bloods, etc., are all pretty much the same as the Kiwanis, Masons, Knights of Columbus, etc., more emphasis should be placed to reduce the number of those club members that discharge their weapons in public places, especially when they fire at or near other human beings. Possibly a program could be funded through Washington to place "No shooting" signs in parking lots, city streets, and so on.
Possibly Edina could obtain some of the stimulus package money to purchase "shot spotter" equipment.

Yes. What we need are "No Shooting" signs placed on all street corners and parking lots. That way, no shootings would ever occur! Just like how those "No Guns Allowed" signs posted in select storefronts have ceased all robbery activity since they've been placed!

If I wasn't a FNG to this forum I'd think there was some sarcasm involved in some of these well-meaning and intelligent solutions to the issues of a few poor, disadvantaged, confused youths...

This was in Edina? Sure the gang bangers didn't hire someone to shoot for them?
